About the project

The Waldersea Pump is being renovated by property developer David Housden. Stage one of the project is now complete, with the old pumping station (built in 1827) made structurally secure. Stage two will see the old pumping station converted into two houses and the newer pump house, built circa. 1948, transformed into a spacious residence.

The pumping station has been restored following strict conservation guidelines. Traditional materials and methods have been used including lime mortar, timber framed windows to match the originals and slate tiles.
